Ecology & hunting notes

These notes may apply to related variants. Confirm the target monster before planning a hunt.

Ecology

These odd monsters blind both prey and enemies with special pulsing organs near their heads. They then use their strong legs to deliver finishing blows

Hunting notes

Since the intense flash is emitted forward from the head, circling behind them the moment their Flash Fins begin to open is an effective counter. Destroying the Flash Fins also reduces the range of the blinding light.

Combat & equipment references

Battle note

The monster can emit a blinding light from its head. Break it to stop it from stunning you.

The monster has flash fins on its head! Break them, and it won't be able to emit that blinding light anymore!

Area mention

Saltthorn Dunes

I've observed an agile Tzitzi-Ya-Ku at Saltthorn Dunes, flashing at an unusually high frequency. This particular individual shows territorial instincts far beyond normal, along with a tendency to expand its territory, encroaching on other creatures' habitats. Please come help me track it down and put an end to that endless dazzling glow.
