Read the game terms before using an emulator

Section 7(c) of the game’s EULA includes emulation in its player-conduct restrictions. Read the current agreement and any terms for your region before deciding whether to use an emulator. An emulator vendor’s guide is not authorization from the game’s publisher.

The steps below summarize the vendors’ own installation and control documentation. Review the game terms first; vendor guides do not establish publisher approval.

MuMuPlayer setup and key mapping

The MuMuPlayer MHO page describes installing MuMuPlayer, signing in to Google Play and searching the store for Monster Hunter Outlanders. Check the store listing for your device and region before installing.

MuMuPlayer’s key-mapping guide describes how to configure its controls:

  1. With a game open, select Keyboard Mapping on the emulator frame.
  2. Choose an existing scheme, or select New Scheme to create one.
  3. Place a control over the corresponding on-screen area, assign a key and select Save. The editor also has a Gamepad tab.

These are MuMuPlayer’s general controls, not an official MHO keyboard layout.

LDPlayer setup and keyboard mapping

LDPlayer’s MHO guide describes downloading and installing LDPlayer, searching for the game, and signing in to Google Play if the store requests it. Select the game’s official listing and follow the store’s installation prompts.

To adjust keyboard controls, LDPlayer’s mapping guide says to open Keyboard mapping from the side toolbar after launching a game. Add or edit the controls on screen, assign keys and select Save. Its mapping tools include movement and view controls; their assignments are emulator settings.

BlueStacks setup and game controls

The BlueStacks MHO guide describes installing BlueStacks, opening Google Play, signing in and installing the game from its listing. Availability is determined by the store and device compatibility.

In BlueStacks 5, open Game controls on the side toolbar to choose a control scheme or open the controls editor. Its Game Controls guide also explains how to toggle controls and select keyboard or gamepad display. To find CPU, memory, display and graphics options, open the gear-shaped Settings menu and follow the BlueStacks settings guide.

Check Google Play availability

Google Play Help explains that app availability depends on device compatibility and location. If the game does not appear in the store:

  1. Check the game’s current listing and your device’s Android version. The official launch FAQ recommends Android 12 or later.
  2. In Google Play Store, open your profile → Settings → About and check the Play Protect certification status. Follow Google’s certification instructions if the device is not certified. Turning off Play Protect does not fix certification.
  3. If the Play Store itself is not working, use Google’s Play Store troubleshooting guide. It explains how to update the Play Store and clear its cache.
  4. For game-specific availability and compatibility, contact the game developer using the contact address on the official FAQ.

Controller options

The official FAQ lists controller support. Need help pairing a controller and understanding the game’s controls? Read our MHO Controller Guide. BlueStacks also documents its own gamepad settings in its settings guide.
