Barroth — MHO Monster Research
Read available Barroth research in Monster Hunter Outlanders (MHO), including sourced ecology notes and separately labelled material candidates.
Ecology & hunting notes
Ecology
Barroth seek out ants, their favorite snack. They attack potential rivals with their devastating charging attack
Hunting notes
The hardened mud caked on their bodies not only boosts their defense, but can also be flung at foes as an attack. It's best to strip away the mud first with water weapons, which they fear, to gain the upper hand.

Area mention
Desert Oasis
This is an emergency! The Barroth in the Desert Oasis is completely out of control! According to on-site observation, the area is now surrounded by mud. It's causing serious ecological damage. Tommy is also trapped! Captain, we need to rescue Tommy immediately, capture this Barroth, and find out why it's gone mad.
Searing Plains
Doing fieldwork on the Searing Plains really dries a person out. I heard the mud coating a Barroth's body works wonders for keeping skin moisturized. Could you bring me back some of the freshest mud first? No wait... a little bit won't be enough. Just bring me the whole Barroth, captured alive!
