Personal token: Broken Blade

I. Flamebreaker
The world has never lacked powerful adventurers, but a select few feats are the kind that leave even the most battle-hardened veterans stunned—slaying alone what was never meant to be slain by any one person, walking out alive from certain death, achieving what no one had accomplished in a thousand years. Bards wove these deeds into ballads sung in every tavern and campsite across the continent, and over time people began to speak of the "Twelve Legends": the twelve names universally recognized as the strongest in the world. Freya is one of them.
The Rathalos calamity ravaged her homeland for decades. That very Rathalos had leveled an entire city, and countless guilds that banded together to hunt it never returned. Yet it was ended by a single person. Legend says that in the final moments of that battle, all of Freya's companions had fallen, and she herself was on the verge of collapse. The Rathalos took to the sky and brought its most searing strike crashing down. In that dire moment, she did not retreat, nor did she guard—she simply charged forward to meet the world-swallowing flames, swinging her great sword with everything she had. The blade's light split the dragon's fire clean down the middle, painting the sky crimson, and the Rathalos came crashing to the ground.
This is how she earned her place among the Twelve Legends: "Flamebreaker." Whenever bards reach this part of the song, they always lower their voices—for flames like that should never have been something one person, one blade, could cut down.
II. Broken Blade
What people don't know is that before Flamebreaker became a legend, that fire had already been burning for many years.
When Freya was young, the guild first found her in that very fire. That Rathalos attack took her parents' lives—it was the guild leader at the time who pulled her out from beneath the collapsed roof beams. She trained under him with the great sword for many years.
Years later, she finally stood before the Rathalos once more. Just as she raised her blade and the dragon's flames came rushing at her, fear swallowed her whole—in that instant, she became once again the child trapped beneath the fallen beam, waiting helplessly to be saved. Her master rushed forward and took the blow for her, shattering his sword and suffering grave injuries. From then on, his strength faded with each passing year, until at the very end of his life, he passed the Guild—and that broken blade—into her hands.
Even now, she still polishes that broken blade alone by the campfire. When the firelight flickers across the break, she sometimes finds herself lost in thought, as if she can see a familiar figure reflected there—the one who always stood before her, still watching over her even now...
III. Crimson Crest
After the legend of Flamebreaker was forged, Freya once considered disbanding the Guild. With the Rathalos slain, its reason for continuing to exist seemed to fade along with it. But just as she was about to make that decision, Midori stopped her: surely slaying that dragon was never the whole of the Guild's purpose?
That night, Freya couldn't sleep. She thought back on the years her master led the Guild—rushing to villages that couldn't be evacuated in time, stopping anomalies before they became disasters, marking unfamiliar trails for fellow adventurers, and lingering in places with no contracts and no rewards. None of those deeds were ever recorded, yet her master never once turned away from them. She had always believed that all he'd left her was that Rathalos, until that night she finally understood—what he'd truly left behind was something else entirely: the Guild had always been a group of people who ventured into the world's mysteries on their own two feet, coming together only after seeing the truth with their own eyes. And it was that very awareness that had, little by little, changed places and people alike.
In the end, she didn't disband the Crimson Crest—she rebuilt it. "The crimson arrow"—loosed from the string, flying forward, never looking back. She gave the whole Guild a single motto: chase hope, never look back. Now, everyone gathered under that name carries their own unfinished stories: the half-sachet Raya always keeps on her, the journal Madelyn never finished writing, the black sludge that has never left Ouyang Varen's left arm. She never asks about these things—she simply, quietly, moves the quests that might lead to answers to the top of the list.
IV. Fearless
Her master once said that the true meaning of the great sword lies in fearlessness.
For many years, she forced herself not to feel fear—until she was certain it was gone. But the moment she closed her eyes, that broken beam would come crashing down again, her master's silhouette would step in front of her once more, and her hands would tremble, her legs grow weak. She tried desperately to hide her fear, but it never truly left.
Then, the instant Midori was caught in the heart of the dragon's flames, all that fear surged back at once. She feared losing her, feared that the person before her would become nothing more than a memory she could only revisit at night—in that split second the flames erupted, that fear nearly seized her heart, overpowering even her will to live... It was fear that swung that blade for her, and it was in that very moment that she finally understood the meaning of fearlessness.
Fearlessness isn't the absence of fear—it's the step forward taken even when fear has reached its peak.
Fearlessness is born from fear itself.
When bards sing of the legend of Flamebreaker, they sing of the blade's light that split the sky. Perhaps the world will never truly know the real meaning behind that legendary strike, "Flamebreaker."
